Painting is the practice of covering surfaces with paint, as well as preparing the surfaces to be painted. Paint is commonly applied using brushes.

Wallcovering is the practice of covering walls with wallpaper, to decorate the interior walls of homes, offices and other buildings. Wallpaper is put onto a wall using wallpaper paste. As with painting, wallcovering also requires proper preparation of the surface before applying.
